An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Tune In

(Pro 1:4 KJV)  To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

This offers a word of hope for all of us even when we don’t know we need it.  Few of us would think of ourselves as “naive” (6612a) (NASB) or “simple” (KJV).  We might be aware of our lack of knowledge and that we are a bit inexperienced, but being simple does not seem like a complement.  It isn’t.  We are.  The first step toward healing is to realize I am sick.

So?  Embrace the awareness of simplicity.  This is one of the reasons we keep studying the word.  This is why we can keep learning even though we have been reading the bible for decades.  There are great depths to be delved into and it won’t happen if we don’t go looking.
