An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

God Is Watching

(Psa 113:6 KJV)  Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!

(Proverbs 18 also read)

One of the errors we make is to be too consumed with “What a friend we have in Jesus.”  It is easy to take away the eternal and majestic nature of God and just make Him a buddy.  The other extreme is just as bad.  Too many people think of God as just “out there”.  This was the error of the Deists.  For them God created the watch, wound it up and departed the scene.  No.  God takes the time to “behold” (7200) us on earth.

Notice that He is also stooping when He considers the heavens so far above us.  We see here both the uncomprehensible God and the God who reaches out to touch us.

So?  Rejoice.  Our God is both.  He is beyond our feeble attempts to understand and yet He keeps giving us red hot clues for the day.
