An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Effect and Cause

(Gen 50:20 KJV)  But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

(Proverbs 3 also read)

As I was reading and thinking about Proverbs 3 this came to mind.  We talk a lot about walking by faith and trusting in Providence.  Where we are shaky is in the actual walking and trusting.  Maybe you are different but I keep asking, “Why?”  Often I don’t get an answer.  One of my big “why me” focuses is on the blessings I have.  During times when people are giving prayer requests I am struck by how sheltered God has kept me.  Don’t get me wrong, I am okay with that but I keep wondering “why?”

One of the hard things to accept is that evil things happen to good people.  We need to build on the stated fact that God can use them for good.  It is not a cop out.  It is a fact.

So?  Have a blessed day even if it does not go well.  Live in anticipation of someday knowing why certain things happen.  Understanding will change everything.
