An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Continuing Education

(Psa 119:102 KJV)  I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.

(Proverbs 11 also read)

We are to read, study and meditate.  We do this because we have a promise that goes beyond ourselves.  In the New Testament we have the promise of the Holy Spirit,

(Joh 16:13 KJV)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
I remind you again that the Bible is a consistent whole.  Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit as a teacher.  Here the point is that learning is anchored in God Himself.

Does that mean we can kick back and just listen to tapes?  No.  That may be one tool but we are expected to have a bit of focus.

So?  Do your due diligence.  God will be the force that helps you put it all together.
