An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Storm Drains

(Pro 13:20 KJV) He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

I would guess that “fools” (3684) are a lot more fun to hang with than the cautious and careful.  I remember the days of my youth when a friend showed me how much fun it was to go down in the storm drains and walk around the city.  It was fun.  It was also incredibly dangerous.  If some location uphill decided to release water for some reason we would have become statistics.  If we had run into a pack of hungry rats we might have gotten out alive but who knows what kind of shots we would have needed to keep living.  This was before the days of homeless masses but you never know.

Yes it was fun.  It was also incredibly stupid.  I am sure all of us have similar stories we could tell.

So?  I am grateful for guardian angels and the grace of God.  This verse is reminding us that His patience may come to an end if our choices continue too long.
