An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

The Possible and the Necessary

(Proverbs 30:3 KJV)  I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.

This is a reminder that we need to be honest and take a position of humility.  Yes, we may demonstrate some “wisdom” (2451) and we do come to be known by God.  Having said that we need to keep in mind that wisdom is more an action than a collection.  There is always the chance of missing the mark.  As for knowing God, He is infinite.  He can know us but we will always be searching the riches of His being.  Go back to your math.  Two times infinity is still infinity.  Infinity minus one is still infinity.  It is a totally nonsense concept for our human minds but in math and theology it makes perfect sense.

So?  Growth will always be possible.  Humility will always be necessary.
