An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

It Only Looks Good

(Proverbs 3:31 KJV)  Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

Wanting to be seen as successful in the eyes of our contemporaries can be a fatal trap.  We look around and see that the corrupt politicians and greedy tycoons seem to be doing all the winning and getting all the pie not just the biggest piece.  It is really tempting to start doing things their way.

If you read on down the chapter you find that such decisions turn the Lord against you and ultimately become a curse.

So?  Stay on the path.  Short term victories and gains based on a flawed scale are not really what I want.  I hope you agree.
