An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

The Ears Work

(Proverbs 23:9 KJV)  Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

Not everyone will concede to your “wisdom” (7922).  Get used to it.  Sometimes it is deserved.  They know you.  They know you did not do your homework.  They can see that you are faking it.  That is your problem.

Sometimes they will reject what you say because they are a “fool” (3684).  That means that they have turned off their thinking caps and their ears.  This happens when you speak eternal truth.  This happens when you repeat what God has said.  They don’t want to hear.  If they hear they will feel responsible and when they do nothing, feel guilt.  They would rather live depraved lives and spend eternity in hell than submit to the God of the universe.

So?  Sometimes it is you.  Sometimes it is them.  Sometimes it is God.  Do your homework.  Check your sources.  Be slow to speak.  And relax.  You are not responsible for their salvation.  That is between them and God.
