An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Picking and Choosing

(Proverbs 1:29 KJV)  For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Choices and priorities.  Coincidence and probability.  Take your pick and build a life.  I keep hearing surveys that show most Americans believe in God and pray.  That should show a culture of wise choices and righteous priorities.  The evidence before my eyes shows a population taking their chances on the luck of the draw.  Someone is living in delusion.

We know that the “fear” (3374) of the Lord is the foundation for “knowledge” (1847) and wisdom.  Obviously a person who “hated” (8130) knowledge is rejecting the Lord.  Without these ingredients you are destined for frustration, failure and, yes, hell.

So?  Life has big choices and small choices.  Make sure you base them on knowledge, not guesswork.
