An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Morning Mold

(Proverbs 6:22 KJV)When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

What are your first thoughts when you wake up in the morning?  At this point in my life I usually thank God for the absence of pain.  The literal first words in my mind are “Good morning, Lord”.  At some times in my life they would have been, “Can I go back to sleep?”  We have all asked, “Where am I?” at times.

What is it that molds your day?  Is it your children?  You need to get them dressed, fed and off to school.  Is it your job?  You need to finish up something before you get to work.  What sets the parameters and priorities?  The recommendation here is that we let the commandments mold our day.

So?  The words of God need to become like that melody we can’t get out of our head.  That will only happen if we discipline ourselves to let the celestial song play in our presence.
