(Proverbs 16:33 KJV) The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
I am not a gambler. Part of the reason is that I have played poker and find out that I love it. Addiction is just a few hands away. Another is that I understand who pays for all those big hotels in Las Vegas. It isn’t the winners. I also have problems with a social disease that preys on the poor and often destroys the rich.
In spite of that I “cast” (2904) my “lot” (1486) every day. I choose to get out of bed and go to work. I change lanes on the freeway. I drive through green lights. I eat food prepared out of my sight. I have a confidence in life that is based on a trust in God. I accept the fact that it rains on the just and the unjust. I know that bacteria are no respecters of persons. But I also know that God sends the sun to dry the rain and designed my immune system.
That does not mean that I trust the raw fish on a sushi bar.
So? I can face today with anticipation. Join me?

An Idea Borrowed
Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.
