An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

The Path to Life

(Proverbs 8:35 KJV)  For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

Spiritual growth is the path to life.  Serious Christians often emphasize the moment of regeneration, when we are saved.  Jesus called it being born again.  There is no doubt that we must come to a point where faith and grace come together.  There must be an entrance to eternal life.  What next?

Here people of differing theological views express themselves differently.  If a person does not seek wisdom and grow spiritually there are real questions about whether they will have eternal life or not.  One group says that these spiritual retards were never really saved.  The other group says they were saved but fell away.  For our purposes we are looking at the words of Solomon.  Either way this verse seems to imply that we are to seek wisdom.  Then we will find it.  Then we will find “favor” (7522) with God.

So?  Don’t rest on your laurels or a date you wrote in your Bible.  Get moving.  Seek wisdom.  Find favor.
