An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Sign Ups

(Proverbs 1:11 KJV)  If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

Are you a joiner?  Do you find yourself signing up for things and getting on mailing lists.  Sometimes that is just a nuisance.  Sometimes it will cost us.

In the internet age you can sign up for things without being aware of it.  I just updated my security.  When I came to the end there were repeated boxes I had to uncheck.  If I had not done so I would have found my entire interface changed because they wanted permission to become my default in areas I did not want them to be my default.

Beware.  People and groups are trying to suck you in.

So?  Watch what you sign.  Read the fine print.  Be suspicious.  Invest your life wisely.

I'm less and less a joiner as I get older, even of good causes. One person can only stretch himself so far. most places are just after your money and/or personal information, and many things are just created to provide work for the people running the programs. As for techy things, I try to keep them as simple and as few as possible.
