An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

God Gets an Attitude

(Proverbs 3:34 KJV)  Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Can you believe it?  God can have an attitude.  He “scorneth” (scoffs NASB) (3917b) at people.  I know that some people think that God is such a Teddy Bear that He would not do such a thing, but read it again.  God has different attitudes for different people.

Of course the “scoffers” (3917b) deserve it.  That is hard for us to accept if we have the warm fuzzy view of God and salvation.  Some people don’t deserve respect.  Some people don’t deserve to be taken seriously.  Some people should be ignored.

But just because God does it doesn’t mean we can do it.

So?  We are called to patience, kindness and such things as forgiveness.  We are also called to reproof, rebuke and excommunication.  Pray for wisdom, read the word and listen to the Holy Spirit so you know which to apply today.

Amen> The creator of the universe is entitled to feel and act as He will.

I guess that is part of the definition of being creator of the universe.

Grace and peace.
