(Proverbs 13:3 KJV) He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
In our culture the concept of “opens wide” (6589) often has a positive spin. We talk about having an open mind. We talk about being open to new things. In personalities open means honest and up front. I think we can see that.
Here the implication is negative. It is only used two times and the other is a bit vulgar for a G rated blog. This word means being open to destructive actions. Talking too much can cause “destruction” (ruin NASB) (4288). In case you are not paying attention, that is a bad thing.
So? We all have times when we talk before we think. It might be time for repentance and asking forgiveness. It might just be time to be aware and work on improvement. Your mouth, your decision. My mouth, my choice.

I like the bumper sticker that says, "Don't be so open-minded that your brain falls out!"
As for open mouths, the Bible has verse after verse warning against them (as you know).
I think my favorite on that is,
"(Proverbs 17:28 NAS77) Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; When he closes his lips, he is counted prudent."
