An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Word I Hope Doesn’t Apply to You

(Proverbs 6:29 KJV)  So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.

This is not great, inspirational literature.  This is a simple, direct warning from God.  It has already been stated in the Ten Commandments:
(Exodus 20:14 KJV)  Thou shalt not commit adultery.
You would think that is clear enough but our society doesn’t want to hear.

Understand that there is no sneaking that God cannot see.  You cannot get away with it.  It will not “be innocent" (go unpunished NASB) (5352).  In case that isn’t clear let me expand it a little:  Adultery will make your life hell now and put you in the eternal Hell later.

So?  I hope this does not apply to you.  If you are tempted, take it seriously.  Let’s move on.

Like all sin, it can be forgiven, but most of those who are guilty try to justify it rather than repent of it.

Ain't that the truth. I honestly believe that one reason Jesus said few would find the road is because they don't want to change. I think they will stand before the judgement seat and still cling to their sin.

But who am I?

Grace and peace.
