An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Teaching Heart

(Proverbs 16:23 KJV)  The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

I think that people can tell what is in our “heart” (3820).  Maybe not everyone, all the time, but often enough that it makes a difference.  A quote that I have heard attributed to Lincoln, but who knows, is “You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”

The question of the day is, “What is your heart teaching?”  Understand that the heart is not just the center of emotion like we think of it in our feelings centered culture.  It was the center of who you were and what you were.  Our lives “teacheth” (teach NASB) (7919a) what our hearts believe.

So?  What are you teaching?  Take a look.  Listen to yourself for a bit.  Not happy with the results?  I guess that is where revival comes in, and of course repentance.  Allow the Holy Spirit to begin a good work in you today, or renew a atrophied work.
