An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Eternal Hike

Proverbs 2:21 (KJV) For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

A part of me knows that this is a crazy interpretation, but when I read this, it seems to imply that those who live righteous lives will continue to dwell in the land.  That brings to mind the New Jerusalem.

What we like to call “heaven” is really the New Jerusalem on earth.  That is where eternity will be spent.  It will be the center of our existence, and I somehow feel will be able to take long walks in that land.

So?  There are all kinds of hints about where the righteous will spend eternity as opposed to where the wicked will be.  Hints are not declarations.  They are simply indications of possibilities.  The reality will be much better.
