An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Testimony Time

(Psa 145:4 KJV)  One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

(Proverbs 11 also read)

It occurred to me at a recent Wednesday night service that we don’t hear “testimonies” much any more.  Remember the day?  Sometimes it could be less than inspiring.  I remember one lady who would get up and say positive words but her tone of voice, sighs and projection of feeling persecuted took the meaning out of what she said.  Others convey the joy of the Lord.

If you get a chance, share the joy of the Lord.  This is doubly true if you are older.  You have a lot of victories to share.  This brings to mind the song, “The Longer I Serve Him”.  We need to live this in front of our children.  We need to be an example to our church.  We need to speak up when some one asks us, “How’s it going?”

So?  “Praise” (7623b) Him and what He does for us.
