An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Why Take a Chance

(Pro 2:22 KJV)  But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

This verse seems to say that there are physical, temporal consequences for evil lives.  Yet how many times have you been warned about assuming that sickness and hardship are not a result of sin.  This is one of those things that are principles rather than laws.  It is a principle that is very hard to verify.  How often do we find out that someone who is righteous on the outside is dirty on the inside.  By dirty I am talking about such things as porn addictions and abuse of children.

Righteous living has rewards.  I often wonder in history if the ones who suffered the most from the mayhem of war are those who lived in rebellion.  There is no way to know but it is best to leave the judging up to God.

So?  We can’t know about others.  We can make a commitment to live as God would have us live and leave the results to Him.
