An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Those Pesky Verbs

(Pro 10:2 KJV)  Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Notice that “profit” (3276) is a verb and not a noun.  This should point us toward an understanding that it isn’t how much is in your bank account but whether it will do you any good.  Think of the rich farmer who kept pulling down his old barns to store his ever bigger harvests.  What was said to him?

(Luk 12:20 KJV)  But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
It is like the difference between an award ceremony that gives you a nice certificate and the reading of your will.

So?  Live like there is no tomorrow because there may not be.  If there is, it may not make any difference if today is not invested in a Godly way.
