An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Voice of Faith

(Pro 14:16 KJV)  A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Caution, or fear, has a place in our lives.  It is a matter of what we fear and why we fear.  We are told repeatedly to fear the Lord.  This is the kind of fear that makes us pay attention to how fast we are driving when we know there are speed traps around.  If we are toeing the line, there is just enough fear to make sure we have nothing to fear.

Then we have the kind of concerns that are being felt about the way in which our liberties are being eroded during the Viral Panic that is sweeping the country.  I don’t fear the virus.  I do fear a government that is telling us we can’t meet for church.  I don’t fear nuclear war.  I do fear judges who interpret the law as coercion to enforce their political views.

So?  Ultimately I don’t even fear the government or judges.  I am a child of God.  If He feels that the universe will move better with me arrested for attending church, so be it.  I remember that Paul sang while he was in prison.  It doesn’t tell us about his awesome voice , just the strength of his faith.
