An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Avoiding Emergencies

(Pro 30:25 KJV) The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

Strength can be a relative term.  Here we hear that “ants” (5244) are not “strong” (5794).  If we are in a hurry we agree because they are so small and we have all stepped on a few.  If we stop and think with a critical mind we remember seeing ants carrying things that are bigger than they are.  That tells me that they are very strong.  Which is it?

The point here is that physical strength has limitations.  I can identify with that.  I am getting to the point where opening a jar of peanut butter is a real challenge.  A package of potato chips can defy my fingers.  I find that I need to plan ahead.  You supply yourself with tools to get the job done.  If you don’t, whose fault is it?

So?  God has been known to come through in an emergency.  I am not sure He is too big on bailing us out for our own lack of thinking ahead.  He might want us to learn a lesson instead.
