An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Third Place Finish

(Pro 29:5 KJV) A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

Relations with people around us are important.  We need to accept the reality that our words and actions effect others.  This is double true if they know we claim to be Christian.  Have you ever heard someone very vocal about their Christianity and then watch them turn around and take unfair advantage or speak words that are less than kind and true?  I know you have.  The scary part is that it might be said of us.

So?  An important part of love is that we are doing what is consistent with the standards of Almighty God and we are doing what is best for the other person.  We are to take third place.
