An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Manual or Automatic

(Proverbs 21:11 KJV)  When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

How much does a good education cost?  That depends on what you are measuring in learning and payment.  In reality you get what you pay for in time and effort.  Some people are blessed with the ability to learn from observing others.  Some can read a book and get the point.  I tend to be someone who often needs to be knocked on the head in order for the point to be made.

I am not sure I would really be happy with the short method of learning.  I read in fiction about sleep learning or downloading knowledge.  It sounds so good.  Wouldn’t it be great to learn fencing by attaching some electrodes and after a short period of time know all the moves.  The problem is that certain things need the discipline of practice so that the responses come without thinking.

So?  Rejoice.  We can all learn.  Morn.  It will never come automatically.
