An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Twenty Years from Now

(Proverbs 8:24 KJV)  When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

Things have not always been as they are now.  The context here is the creative action of God before the world was formed.  You might say He had His act together before the play started.  He knew what He was doing and where He was going.

The same is true today.  We are looking at a political change in America.  For decades we have been watching social change.  Change is scary but we need to be reminded that God knows where He is going.  I often tell people it doesn’t matter where the country will be in twenty years because I probably won’t be around to see it.  Actually it does matter but I take comfort in the understanding that I am leaving it in good hands, His not the next generation.

So?  Work hard.  Get involved.  Make a difference.  Relax in the knowledge that God is active and omnipotent.
