An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Googling Eternity

(Proverbs 7:12 KJV)  Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

The larger context of this verse is how sin is looking for me.  Everywhere we go we are faced with opportunities to pollute our righteousness.  Although we see the young man who is being stalked also on the hunt, the point here is that evil is everywhere.

Notice it mentions the “streets” (2351) or the ways we get places.  It mentions the “squares” (7339), the places we are going.  We make decisions on route at “every” (3605) “corner” (6438).  The entire trip is laid out for us but there are choices we make.

Every day when I go to work I have choices to make.  I have two general routes, freeway or streets.  I can divide them up and wander around on the way.  I could pick my path based on the information that the TV gives me or consult my Google Maps App.  I am responsible.

So?  Make use of the tools you have for picking your way to work.  Use different tools to pick your way to heaven.
