An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Anchors

(Proverbs 16:3 KJV)  Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

After you have turned things over to the Lord and are trusting, what kind of result can you expect.  Your plans are “established” (3559).  There are two main translations.  The other is in the word “prepared”.   There are a lot of directions that this can go in but the general idea is having a solid foundation laid down to make it possible to move forward.

Rarely can we have absolute guarantees an any project, hope or dream.  Most of us accept that.  When people at work say “I’ll see you tomorrow,” I often answer, “Lord willing, and the creek don’t rise.”

If we are listening and learning about the will of God, we are half way there.  If we are grounding our plans in the wisdom the Holy Spirit has implanted we have a greater chance of success.

So?  Plan you day.  Set goals for yourself.  Dream.  But do it based on the foundation that God has given you.
