An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Wisdom Is Basic

(Pro 9:2 KJV)  She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

Look at all of the steps that had been taken to organize a banquet.  Verse 1 talks about getting the house ready.  Verse 3 deals with sending out invitations.  In this verse it focuses on the actual meal preparation.  A lot goes into a successful gathering.

Wisdom is inviting us to a banquet.  The good news is that God has done the heavy lifting.  Science is busy trying to figure out how God created the universe.  Medical research is trying to find out how He developed a human body that is so good at fighting disease but sometimes breaks down.  That is all well and good, but the foundations have already been laid.  We can depend on an eternal, immutable God.  We can trust a holy, righteous God.  We can have confidence in eternity, tomorrow and today.

So?  Save the understanding of DNA for another day.  Analyze singularities during your lunch hour.  For the morning, get into wisdom.  Read the word.  Look for the things that will endure forever.
