An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Just Righteous

(Proverbs 10:20 KJV)  The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

Believers should get the “Silver” (3701) “Tongue” (3956) Award.  People should love to hear what we have to say because we speak truth.

At least that should be our standard.  We are supposed to be “just” (righteous NASB) (6662).  Think of the synonyms that are substituted for being just at different places in scripture.  What words come to mind?  Straight.  Upright.  Honest.  Clean.  Righteous.  Pure.  Holy.

We should be the kind of people who speak with silver dollars instead of monopoly money.  When we say something, hearers should be able to take it to the bank.

So?  Are you a reliable source?  That doesn’t mean you never make mistakes.  It means that your are the kind of person who’s words can be trusted.  It is a matter of choice.  Make it today.
