An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Workers of the World, Delight

(Proverbs 31:13 KJV)  She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

She “works” (6213a) with a good attitude.  This is a character trait of the excellent wife.  You aren’t a wife?  It still should apply to each of us.  This is one of those universals.  I am not sure how much a person can do much about this, but we should try.

She has “delight” (2656) in her labor.  We should also delight in our labor.  This is a blessing to her as well as those around her.  When we find pleasure in what we do it helps to change our outlook on life.  When we are pleasant, it is sensed by those around us.  Have you ever noticed when someone is having a bad day?  You want to avoid them.  It causes some rain to fall on your parade.  It goes both ways.

I don’t expect everyone to become a Care Bear.  That isn’t in all of us.  We all have different gifts.  Some have mercy and helps; some don’t.  But we can all seek to find delight in our work.  It is what God has placed us to do.

So?  Remember that even one cog missing can cause a machine to grind to a halt.  Today strive to be a part of the solution, not the cause of the problem.
