An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

All Calls Are Recorded

(Proverbs 12:17 KJV)  He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

Part of “truth” (530) involves “righteousness” (right NASB) (6664).  The world uses the word truth but they have deleted the meaning.  For them truth means whatever advances their agenda.  For the believer truth is not negotiable or adjustable.  One truth may be the same for all but does not fit all.  It is what it is even if we don’t like it.  This is righteousness and holiness.  We are to call a club a club, not a “puppy feet”.

It is possible to say something that is a fact but say it in such a way as to be a “false” (8267) “witness” (5707).  My personal definition of a lie is “communication with intent to deceive.”  I don’t know that it is in the dictionary that way.  You can lie by saying nothing when something is required for truth.  You can lie by only telling half of the truth when the whole truth is needed.

We are to speak what is righteous.

So?  Be a righteous communicator.  Remember that your line is tapped by the Holy Spirit.  All calls are recorded for quality control.
