Psalm 13:5 (KJV) But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
(Proverbs 18 also read)
Where is the law? Certain people like to talk about how we live in the age of grace. That is true in the sense that gentile men are not required to be circumcised nor are we required to follow the other details of the law. Well and good, but what does that have to do with salvation?
Notice the keywords here. They are keywords today and they were keywords 3000 years ago. You see salvation. If you really wanted to be contrary, you could be talking about David being saved from his enemies, but it goes deeper than that. You see trust. Can you say faith? That’s what trust is. Can you say mercy? This is that favorite word of mine, chesed, and it speaks of loving kindness. That’s grace for you, Philistines.
So? Join David and rejoice in the God of our salvation. Even an Old Testament times He was extending His grace through the avenue of faith and offering salvation. It’s good that some things haven’t changed.

An Idea Borrowed
Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.
