An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Another Voice Heard

(Pro 16:2 KJV)  All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

There are times when a paraphrase hits a home run.  This is one of them or else I am just in the mood for a pithy saying,

(Pro 16:2 LB) We can always “prove” that we are right, but is the Lord convinced?
One of the great functions of reading the word of God is to knock us off of our high horse.  It is so easy for us to be filled with ourselves.  God loves to deflate our egos when it is a step toward righteousness and upright living.

So?  Read another translation at times.  Look for insights that have escaped you before.  Trust me, they are there.
