An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Special Delivery

Proverbs 2:4 (KJV) If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

This verse is talking about Wisdom.  It could apply to any lesson that God wants to give you.  Are you seeking God’s will?  Do you want inspiration in a decision you have to make?  Take this passage to heart.  The answer will probably not walk up and bite you on the nose.  You will need to be looking for it.

Wisdom is not like those services that deliver a meal with all the ingredients to your doorstep on a regular basis.  For those all you have to do is sit back and wait.  When you open the door it is all there.  Wisdom is more like going to the fruit market, finding out what is on sale and checking out each apple for bruises and worm holes.

So?  Yes, God will on occasion give you a serendipity.  Usually you learn from applying yourself and listening with care.  Wisdom waits.
