An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

No ETA

Proverbs 1:3 (KJV) To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

We will never arrive.  Our journey toward maturity will never end in this life.  Yes, there is the concept of reaching a certain point of fulfilling our destiny, but the growth will continue after that.  Peter does say that we are to be holy as God is holy.  Perfection is a word used for what you are as saints and it does mean maturity.  Having said that, we will never be able to rest on our laurels.

We always need to be seeking continued “instruction”.  Notice the four categories listed here.  We live in a day and age where these are desperately needed, but we live in a day and an age where counterfeits are offered up on a regular basis.  The only way that these can be real is if they are grounded in the eternal truths of God.

So?  Stay enrolled.  Make sure that you are in classes whatever the format of those classes would be.  It could be the Sunday sermon.  It could be a class itself.  It could simply be that you are diligently reading and listening to the voice of God.  Keep growing.
