An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Your Choice

Proverbs 15:15 (KJV) All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

How do you have a merry heart?  It sounds like an emotional state and we have little control over our emotions.  Or do we?

I think this indicates that we have a lot more to say about our emotional state than we want to admit.  Often it is an excuse we use to act in ways that are unacceptable to the people around us.  How often have we said or heard someone else say, “I’m just in a bad mood”?

So?  We can choose to be merry or sad.  The choice starts with acknowledging that fact.  Make a decision and call on God for the help you need.  Plan on being amazed at the results.
