An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Filtering

Proverbs 14:18 (KJV) The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

As I read this morning, it reminded me of how difficult it is for us to know what is happening in current events.  We go to the media and find that for the large part it’s all fantasy and lies.  We go to YouTube and we have lots of Clickbait and tantalizing titles.  We talk to our friends and they give us their opinions, which are very much their opinions

What are we to do?  The point here is that those who are simple or naïve, depending on your translation, just take what they hear and it produces nothing but folly.  On the other side, those who are prudent and careful in their thinking can end up with real knowledge.

So?  Again I remind you to start with the written word of God.  That will give you a standard by which to understand your world.  Once you have that foundation listen to what you hear, filtered through the active involvement of the Holy Spirit in your process.
