An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Read It All

Psalms 127:2 (KJV) It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows:  for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

(Proverbs 3 also read)

It is really easy to read a verse like this and use it as an excuse for doing what you wanted to do in the first place.  You need to read the context.  It’s really isn’t a lesson in sloth, it is a lesson in obedience and trust.  We are expected to work hard.  We are to do these things with we can understanding that ultimately success is up to the Lord.

So?  Read the context.  Make sure you got the whole picture before you do something stupid.
