An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Be Careful

Proverbs 24:17 (KJV) Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

As I write, we are digesting the knowledge that Joe Biden has cancer and is not long to be on this earth.  Many people have responded with traditional messages of condolence.  Others have been less dignified.  How should we respond to something like this?

There is no question to anyone has been paying attention that Joe Biden has been an evil force in our country.  He has been an enemy to Christianity and to the republic.  At the same time there is a very stern admonition here about how we are to respond when someone who is clearly an enemy falls.  Read it and weep if you must.  You must also not gloat and his misfortune.

This does not mean that we do not seek justice or enforce the law.  This is about our attitude as believers.  We are not of the world.  We are to be different.

So?  Be different.  If nothing else, pray that this last awakening call to Joe Biden before he goes into eternity will bring him to repentance.
