An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Instrument Certification

(Pro 17:24 KJV)  Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

There are times when keeping your eyes on the horizon is the thing to do.  A pilot who is not qualified on instrument flying needs the horizon to keep his place.  When I get car sick it is better to look at the distant spot than the back of the seat in front of me.  That is not always the best case.

Take my mention of the pilot.  You had better hope that the pilot of your flight home for Christmas is not depending on the horizon to get you their safely.  Advanced pilots are required to learn to read and trust their instruments.  The inside of your head can make you think you are flying level when you are going straight down.  This is the place of wisdom.  It anchors and establishes truth.

So?  Work on your spiritual wings.  Go for wisdom instead of trusting your “heart”.  It will prevent a lot of crashes.
