An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Fear the Right Things

(1Pe 3:14 KJV)  But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

(Proverbs 26 also read)

If you are using the NASB and see all the capital letters it should tell you something:  This is an Old Testament quote.  The KJV does not make that clear.  Compare it to this,

(Isa 8:12 KJV)  Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
I would imagine that you are aware the world is unsettled.  The phrase “wars and rumors of wars” seems like a headline for our times.  The government wants you to panic so they can take more power away from the citizens so they can control us.  The media wants us to cower in fear so they can sell more advertising.  Even the weatherman gets into the act.

God tells us we are to fear Him not all the imagined problems we are inundated with.

So?  Relax and rejoice.  Even if God allows you to go through some difficulty, He has this.  Rejoice in the hope that is in you.
