An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Prayer Games

(Pro 15:29 KJV)  The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

We have two types of people and I think we can assume that both are praying.  Notice that there is a different response to the two prayers, or should we say people who pray.  One God “hears” (8085).  One He ignores.  We tend to forget this.  When a avowed pagan says something to the effect “our prayers are with you” my response is, “So what?”

It is not just here.  The Bible makes it clear that God does not pay attention to the prayers of people who are not following Him.  I assume that does not apply to a prayer of repentance.  It does not do any good for a person living in rebellion to ask for healing.  That is one of the reason why they will call the church for prayer.  In their hearts they know God is not listening.

So?  This is not just an honor but a responsibility.  Keep your heart right and pray for others, just make sure that there is always a prayer for their salvation involved.
