An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Pay Day

(Pro 13:21 KJV)  Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

Is this a promise or a principle?  I guess in a sense it is both.  It is a principle because we know the Bible talks about persecution.  One example of this,

(Mat 24:9 KJV)  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
But there are also the promises that God will be with us through the entire journey.  I think that as a general rule those who are walking as God has directed will see a lot less of the evils that life can dish out than those living in rebellion.  Think of the diseases that righteous living shields us from.

So?  Living righteously has an eternal payoff but also a temporal, daily benefit.  Believe it.  Live it today.
