An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Personal Growth

(Pro 6:7 KJV) Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

The ant does not labor under a supervisor.  At the same time, the ant knows what its job is.  Part of that is instinct.  Ants don’t build bee hives.  They don’t dam up rivers.  They dig tunnels and gather certain types of food.  That is instinct.  Where the food is and where it is stored is information gathered from those who have gone before.  There are lessons for us.

When we are transformed by the Holy Spirit there are certain qualities that are built in.  This is why we can often let people grow in grace.  They have an inner sense that certain things are not to the glory of God.  At the same time they can learn from others on the same path.  That is the value of times of testimony and reading biographies of godly people.

So?  Walking the path and learning about it are important and available.  You may not want to dig tunnels but you can dig into the word.
