An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Gone

 (Pro 2:13 KJV) Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

A Biblical truth that is stated here is that people can “leave” (5800) something called the “paths” (734) of “uprightness” (3476).  Most Christians would accept that because they have seen it.  The difference is in understanding what it means.  For the Calvinist it means that they were just going through the motions of conforming to church behavior.  They were never really saved in the first place.  To the Wesleyan it can mean that they have gone apostate, they have denied the faith and consciously left it.

So?  We need to learn to accept that people can turn on us.  Whether they were really saved or not does not change the fact that they get a real joy from messing with God’s people.  Be aware.
