An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Fun Times

(Pro 19:29 KJV) Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

My mind wandered to the thought that God spends His creativity on rewards for the righteous rather than innovative punishments for the unrepentant.  I notice that the punishment for these rebels is “prepared” (3559) ahead of time.  This is the word used for God establishing the heavens in Proverbs 3:19 and 8:27.  It has the idea of laying down a solid foundation.

Believers have an eternity of experiencing God’s infinite creativity.  Those who reject Him have a dreadful and repetitive payoff ahead.

So?  Is sin fun?  It is certain that the eternity of sinners won’t be.
