An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Second, Act

(Proverbs 28:18 KJV)  Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

It makes a difference how we live our lives.  Again, I accept we are saved by grace and our debt is so vast that we cannot pay the price for our sin by any effort of our own.  At the same time there is a demand for us to live righteous lives.  Yes Abraham was righteous because of his faith but his faith was only noticed because of his actions.  If he had remained in Ur and talked about how much he believed in God I don’t think it would have been accounted to his as righteousness.

God demands our faith but He also demands our obedience.  Like the love and marriage of the old song, you “can’t have one without the other”.

So?  Trust in God.  Act like it.  It will make a difference.
