An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Evil Targets

(Proverbs 28:17 KJV)  A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

Is this verse aimed at the great killers of all time or at the educator that goes through life dumbing down young minds in the name of political correctness?  Is it Stalin or your kindergarten teacher?  I think the answer is both.  I don’t know which Solomon had in mind.  He certainly had his share of bloody kings and emperors to deal with but he also had people who went through life just getting a rush from being evil.

As I have said before, evil exists.  Admit it and learn to recognize it.  This also tells us that we are not to support it.  That calls for us to develop a Biblical view of what is evil.  It does not mean to accept what your local social justice warrior tells you.

So?  Life will never get easy.  We need to engage our minds and be alert.  We need to recognize that standards of God and embrace them.  It will never be automatic.  It will never be easy.  It can be done.
