An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Mundane

(Proverbs 30:28 KJV)  The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

These verses talk about common things.  Life is made up of common things.  If you look over verses 24 through 28 you see two insects, a rodent and a reptile.  What kind of day are you having?  I can think of experiences that would fit each label.

In the midst of the common, everyday experiences we see outcomes we might not expect.  What is “lizard” (8079) doing in the “palace” (1964)?  Eating bugs of course.  Neither the eater nor the eaten are very romantic but they are a part of daily life.

So?  Face it.  Life is not made up of dramatic moments.  It is made up of the mundane and common.  Through such things God works to His glory.  Enjoy your part in it.
